Smiles

I am in a rather smiley mood this afternoon. Although I have been revising all day today (well, most of it), the previous two days have been pretty good. I shall elaborate:

Monday:
Where do I start? Getting up at half past eight on Bank Holiday Monday. It wasn’t the nicest thing to do, but it was for a good reason. It meant I had time to have a shower and get ready to go out for the whole day to see my cousins. We jumped in the car, me with the remainder of my pick and mix and my iPod, Steve, at about 10 and drove off towards Aylesbury. Why we had to drive to Aylesbury was a bit confusing. We wanted somewhere that was equidistant from our house and our cousins’ house, but the last place we went that was right was also boring, so we chose a new destination that was further away from both parties. It doesn’t make much sense, but there’s our family for you.
We arrived before they did; they’d been held up by traffic and other things. We were grabbing a quick snack whilst Dad asked us many times whether he should wear his jeans or his shorts. He chose shorts, yet when my cousins did arrive, he changed his mind, and therefore his clothes. We then all trecked off in a random direction (although Mum claims it was not random as she was following the guide book), and had to turn around as we’d gone the wrong way. It was okay walking along by the canal, there were trees and a nice breeze. I was being interrogated by my motor-sport fanatical uncle about my trip to Thruxton circuit with Toby and his Dad a few weeks back, and then about the trip on Toby’s boat that was being planned. We then crossed the canal and wandered into the woods. That part was okay, when we were in the shade. It was when the shade disappeared that it wasn’t good. I was boiling, after being told by Dad that it wasn’t that warm and I would be okay wearing my skinny jeans. What did he know? Eventually, we made it back to the pub, where we sat with the panting dog – which I wasn’t surprised at, I would have been panting if I’d done a four mile walk with all her fur – and had some lunch, before we split up and went our seperate ways home.

My brother, my cousins and I
[Lauren, Me, Chris and Josh]

It was a really nice day with the family, the eldest of the two younger cousins, Lauren, and I spent the time hanging back laughing at the unintentional organisation of the rest of the family. My three were all behind each other on the right, hers behind each other on the left, Mums at the front, then Dads, then brothers, Chris and Josh. We were on the same sides, too. It was good to get home though. And of course, seeing as I’d pleased Mum with being with the family, she allowed me out to Toby’s for the evening, which was good. We didn’t do much; only played a bit on the xbox and watched some TV. I headed home at about 10, planning on seeing him the next day, too.

Tuesday:
I woke up at about 8. It was planned, so that I could get a big chunk of revision done so Mum would let me see Toby after lunch. I headed off to his house at about 2; me being the clever one I didn’t take any clothes besides the t-shirt and jeans I was wearing. But it wasn’t really that cold when I was in the sun.
I got to his door just after he’d finished lunch, and because he was working we just sat in his bedroom, him sorting work stuff from his laptop, and me learning how to make WordPress themes to maybe earn a bit of money on his other laptop. We had a really fun afternoon as he kept taking breaks to play odd matches of Worms on the xbox, and then we played badminton in the garden with Sarah, his sister. This was at about 6 o’clock, so I had to borrow his really nice white hoodie to stop myself freezing.
We had chicken kievs and chips for tea whilst half-watching TV, and spent a lot more time messing on the xbox before I had to go home. It doesn’t sound that fun really, but for a couple of mad gamers it was. Mum was being silly and said that even though I had no exams or school or anything, it was still a weekday so I had to be home at 10. It made no sense to me, but her logic is apparently never flawed…

So yes, although I have not done anything of interest today, apart from learning a bit more on WordPress themes, I have had a rather nice week, to follow the rather nice weekend.
