It’s the start of the school holidays. Not that it makes any difference to my recent lifestyle as I’ve been off since 10th June, my last exam. Now though, there is talk of holidays.
Holidays in the sense of going somewhere else in the cold country that is England and pitching a piece of canvas and sleeping on the floor. I don’t mind camping really. Especially when I’m camping with Toby. That is actually going to happen twice this holiday, once with either family.
However, before that, I’m away from Thursday to late Sunday night, going scuba diving. It’s the advanced open water course, and we’re off to Stoney Cove.
It’s a diving location, not too far (the blue marker is Stoney, the pink one is my house). It’s going to be a good weekend I think, although I have a lot of reading of the manual to do before we go.. Which is rather large and should take a while.
We’re going up on Thursday morning, even though we’re diving on the saturday. We’re stopping at my cousins’ in Bedford on the way, as we haven’t seen them in a while.
It should be a good trip, even though I’ll be away from Toby for 4 days..
But after that, on the 6th, Toby is coming diving in the pool, which should be really fun!
And then… On the 1oth, we’re going on holiday with Toby’s family. Yes, it is camping, but it’s fun camping with a boat! His Mum and Dad will sleep on the boat and there’ll be two tents, one with us and one with Sarah and one of her friends. That is going to be a good holiday, although there was a mention of no showers for three or so days.. That is not good.. But I think I’ll live.
The next weekend is my family’s turn. Mum, Dad, Toby and I are going to Woolacombe in Devon (the yellow marker) to meet my cousins on their holiday. They’re staying at a caravan only site, so we’re just going to book into whatever we can get I think and sleep..

Dad’s more excited than the rest of us though, I think. His fishing trip went well a couple of weeks ago, and by ‘well’ I mea they actually caught something. And he’s in the holiday mood. Which means he sorts through all the stuff and cleans things and leaves them on the lawn or hanging in trees to dry.. And then it rains. It’s quite entertaining watching him beat dust out of mats against the tree though.. Anyway, he’s been excited about the bodyboards..
So once we go away we’ll be camping in small tents, probably in the rain, and we’ll go to the beach to do some bodyboarding, in the rain, and barbeque our food, in the rain.. It’s the usual story. It will be fun though.
