I am writing this on my phone, lying on a rather comfy double bed in a small Premier Inn room in Leicester.

We got to my cousins’ at about half 5 last night. We watched South Park until about midnight and then went to bed. I was on the blow-up mattress on Lauren’s floor, but it was pretty comfy.
We woke up late this morning, about 10, and then had croissants for brekky. We were ‘asked’ to walk the dog, so went out, laughing at how scared everyone in Bedford seems to be of teenagers..
We had bacon sarnies for lunch, and then watched various music channels on telly before it was time for Mum and I to set off again.
We were going for about half an hour before we hit an accident on the M1. The traffic was solid; we were going at less than 5mph for a lot of it. Mum decided to pull off at the junction, only to find a lot of people had made the same decision. The route through the town looked as blocked as the motorway. We turned round in the Holiday Inn car park and went back on the motorway to behind the same lorry as we had been before we came off. We hadn’t lost any time then!
Eventually we got past the next junction and caught up with the accident. It looked rather nasty.. There was a mangled Peugeot 207 that looked like it had been cut to let people out. It wasn’t very nice looking but we only had half an hour to go..
Once we got here we had a good conversation with the receptionist about diving and she organised an early breakfast for us, seeing as we need to be at Stoney Cove by 8am.

We are now watching boring TV, with only 5 channels there isn’t much on. Emily and her Dad will be with us soon so it’ll be more interesting. The room is a lot better than expected. I’m used to Formula1 motorway-roadside-jobbies in good old France, with a sponge for a mattress on a plank on the wall. This is nice though. The view is of the car park. So maybe that’s not fabulous, but it’s better than the road! The beds are comfy, and it seems like a nice atmosphere. It’s bound to be good, as the group of divers we come with always stay here. Mind you, I doubt they care quite as much as I do!
We’re diving tomorrow, so should be a good post coming up in a day or two!
