This sort of started as a joke with Zoe; she opened a photo of me in photoshop on my iMac and began drawing all over it for a laugh, giving me green hair and a beard, but then I drew one of her, and it was actually pretty good. I then did Sarah, Sophie and Philly. I’m quite impressed with the pop art style pics I’ve done, so here they are, with the original photo next to them. Read More...

I’m half way through the first week of Semester two, and I’m looking forward to the rest of it so much more than I was at the start of Semester one. I’m studying Ecology, Marine Ecology, Cell Biology & Genetics and Field Biology (which is the free field course to Malaga in Easter). The first lectures of both Ecology modules have been really interesting, cell biology not so much, but it’ll be okay, and I’m really looking forward to the field course. All previous students say the first year field course is the most memorable part of the whole 3 year course! Read More...
I have become a sort of expert in this recently. I’ve been feeling very down and my sleep pattern has gone down the drain and I’m feeling quite depressed quite often. This has lead to not feeling like revising for any exams. Partly because nothing goes in, but also I just can’t seem to concentrate on anything at the moment. It does seem to be a symptom of something, along with the insomnia. I might manage to make a doctors appointment at some point and figure out what’s actually wrong with me. Until then though, I’m stuck here failing to remember anything for my last exam, which bodes well! Read More...
I’m writing this post from my new MacBook Air. This is the first computer I have ever actually bought myself, and I love it. It’s the most comfortable thing I’ve ever typed with, because it’s hardly there! It’s such a pretty machine, and being as powerful as a big laptop and as small as half a netbook, it’s the perfect partner to my big iMac. Read More...
I have now been at University for two months, as of last Thursday. I have changed so much as a person in that time; I’ve met so many new people here and had a lot of new experiences. I’m loving every second of it, except of course the times when upstairs and downstairs are both having parties and I’m trying to sleep in the early hours of the morning before a 9am lecture! Well I bring good news from UCAS. Only a short post, however, as there isn’t all that much more that I can say except.. I got the grades to go to Southampton! I needed BBB, and I got a B in Maths, A in Chemistry and A* in Biology. The last grade is my favourite. Although I’m a little disappointed that I only got a B in maths, as they all said I deserved an A, but I did find two papers really hard and got Cs, and the grade in Bio slightly outweighs the B! I realised I only dropped 15/600 marks in Bio this year; I got full marks in unit 4, as I did with unit 2, and the others were all really high so I was pleased, and so were all the teachers. So I’m going to University in a month; I’m slightly nervous but very excited, so I’m sure I’ll be venting frustrations and awesomeness at some point along the way… Read More...
