Mieow :)
About me. Me, myself and I. Well, there is a lot to say, let me tell you that.
I’ll start with the basics. I’m pretty much your average 18 year old girl. I follow my own crowd and my own style, which is now a mix of a few styles, but I’m heading towards the surfer kind of look with Animal bags, Hollister tees and SuperDry jeans (that I LOVE). I used to be rather emo, but since I’ve been so happy with Toby, I’ve grown up quite a lot and although I still express myself in what I wear it’s a lot less depressing and black.
I now only have one cat, as we lost Salem back in the summer. He came down with kidney problems and caught cat flu and couldn’t fight it anymore. It was a tough time for the family, and I still have times where I cry about him. I miss him loads; he had such a personality, he can never be replaced. I love him so much. Whiskers has changed so much since we lost Salem. She used to be so much more independent, but she needs us now, and she’s more friendly. That is, until she claws your hand for stopping the strokes!
My parents are pretty cool now. I’m treated like an adult, and allowed to do what I want to, most of the time, as long as I’m considerate and help out, which is fair enough. I have an older brother who has now gone off to University in Gloucester.
My boyfriend is amazing. His name is Toby, and we met back in 2009, so we’ve been together a long time, through lots of trials and troubles. I’m anxious about keeping the relationship going when I go to University next year, but I’m pretty sure that we can make it work just as well as it does here.
I’ve got some really great friends, who really help me out with everything when I need them. They care about me, and it’s great to have people that I can really rely on who won’t judge me too much.
I’m at a pretty good school, if I’m honest. Yes, I have and will complain about it, but I have to admit there are a lot of good things about that place, and a lot of good people that I’ll miss when I leave this year.
Apart from family, friends and school, music is my life. There is never a moment when I’m in silence. If I’m on my own, you can safely bet that I’ve got some tunes blaring out of speakers near me. I could name hundreds of artists that have had an impact on my life, especially my teenage life. If I’m honest, which I shall be seeing as this is meant to be about my life, I like a very wide variety of music, but not all that R&B, rap, hip hop stuff. It takes no talent to talk into a microphone, rhyming a few random words. Actually, that is a little harsh, some of it is okay. Some. There’s a lot of more unknown stuff that I love, but then I do like some mainstream stuff, like Oasis: my all-time favourites.
Hobbies. You can normally find me in front of my laptop (which I have thanks to Toby), usually doing something geeky. Like this, for example. But if I’m not doing that I’m normally in town, extending my wardrobe even more (or should I say extending the piles around my room since my wardrobe and drawers are now full), or exerting myself with some form of physical activity. I can Lifeguard, and I’m a pretty okay goalie in football. I played for the school team. I love softball and I quite like hockey, so I’m hoping to find a university team in Southampton (where I hope to go). Most of the time though, my physical activity would be Scuba Diving. I do a lot of that, and a lot of photography to go with it. A lot of my photos are on my Flickr, and others will be on here sometimes!
I have a few random likes. Pirates and vampires for example. Most girls my age have a thing for the Twilight guys, and I’m one of them, but I don’t really know what it is about Pirates that I like. Probably just Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in shirts with low buttons and scraggly hair…..
I also enjoy playing World of Warcraft, when I have money for the subscription and time to play! Sure, WoW may be seen as a game for proper geeks who have spots and no friends, but to tell you the truth I’ve met some really amazing people (some from all over the world) playing online that I can talk to about anything and everything, and noone is judged. I find it easier to talk to them than people I see in real life, because we’re all in the same situations. I also find that it’s a great escape when you’re pretending to be an elf, and it allows me to forget exams and family stresses that are going on in the real world. Judge me if you want for playing, I really couldn’t care less because it’s something I enjoy, and you shouldn’t feel bad about enjoying something. Ever. Enjoyment is a good thing, right?
Well, I suppose that’s the present. I haven’t had the best past a teenage girl could have. It involved bullying, and multiple heartbreaks. But really, since I’ve grown up and stopped paying attention to immature people, the first of the two has let me be. As for the latter, I’ve got my amazing boyfriend, Toby, to love, and he loves me to. I am really lucky.
